The reporter of this news bit has his facts wrong. Brando was never offered the part in Rebel Without a Cause nor was he auditioning for the movie. This footage was from 1947 and the studio wanted to test his acting skills, so they just happened to use parts of an original script, but at that stage the movie was still not even close to being produced. The actual movie was based on an entirely new script and wasn’t shot for another 8 years.
